market activity- 15,000 tonnes of mt were traded in China during the
week ending June 9.- Limited offers due to low profit marginsSources reported a slight increase in the
market activity on June 9, which led to MTBE FOB Singapore price increasing by
$72.30/mt. The
arbitrage window opened in the week prior to June 9 and traders reported that
trades were done between FOB China $915-920/mt with July loading at a confirmed
volume of 15 000 mt. A trader stated that
the low gasoline demand is due to the volatility of Brent prices. This has
caused MTBE demand to be shaky in Southeast Asia. The August ICE Brent Futures were down by 98 Cents/b on a
