MTBE demand in China slows / Traders compete for Pertamina petrol tender

MTBE in Asia is up $13.50/mt from day to day, at $877.50/mt F.O.B. Singapore on May 16. The MTBE factor at FOB Singapore was stable at 1.136. The 92 RON gasoline cracked to Brent crude increased to $8.47/b on May 16 from $7.25/b. This gave a boost to FOB Singapore's marker. The MTBE market as a whole was in a gloomy mood and the general outlook for the market was bleak. The China market was devoid of buyers, but there were some talks about a deal with the South Korean market. This was not confirmed as of the date of this article.
