The price of Asian toluene was stable or
even higher on May 11, despite renewed Chinese demand. The same person was heard
to bid at $800-820/mt on a letter of credit basis for H1 June ASTM-D-841
toluene, prior to the Market on Close process. Sources said that no trades took place during the
three-minute validity period. A renewed
Chinese interest led to a bid of $840/mt, which rose to $850/mt, FOB Korea,
during the MOC, but to no avail. Sources
said that the lower price of Rupees 80/kg for India's domestic ex-tank Kandla
offered attracted less demand. Kandla
