MOC : Trafigura offers June cargo on / China sources consider Singapore's prices low

Low gasoline and MTBE prices continue to plague the Asian MTBE markets. The FOB Singapore MTBE mark was down $1/mt to $822/mt, day on day. However, the general mood in the market was gloomy, as market sources tried to identify possible sources of demand. On June 3, crude oil prices fell, with the August ICE Brent futures at $81.20/b down $0.54/b. Trafigura made an offer to reduce the price of the June 18-22 loading shipment from $823/mt FOM Singapore, as crude prices continued to fall and gasoline was still sluggish. This was during the Market-on-Close assessment process on June 3. On June 3, the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor was lowered to 1.126 from 1.133, indicating a general decline in the market.
