Asian MMA & PMMA: Supply chain issues continue to cause high prices / PMMA learns from high MMA price / Indian buyers resist price increases

The strength in Asian MMA and PMMA prices has continued into the week beginning May 6. The CFR China mark was $2,100/mt and the CFR Southeast Asia marker was $2,250/mt CFR SEA. Asian MMA prices were unchanged from week to week. The PMMA market is up week over week due to strong MMA prices, and limited cargo availability as well as MMA feedstock. According to a source, the PMMA market has been responding to high MMA prices as well as limited cargo and MMA feedstock. CFR China was up $200/mt in one week to $2,300/mt, while CFRSoutheast Asia was up $85/mt to $2,390/mt in the same period. A China-based producer said that the acetone they produce is used exclusively for MMA. The material was not available for the domestic market....
