The Asian MMA price was $1,465/mt FOB China for Dec. 18 while the Southeast Asia assessment remained unchanged at $1.565/mt FOB SE Asia. The Asian market offers for MMA cargoes from China remained steady week to week at around $1,450-1,480/mt FOB China. A source said there was a January-loading bulk cargo being offered for around $1,430/mt. However, other traders claimed that they were unaware of this offer. Sources claim that SE Asian buyers have tried to convince Chinese producers to lower their cargo offer levels, but without success. The Chinese producers were eager to increase their offers but this was not successful. Therefore, the offer level remained unchanged.
