Market sources reported that both domestic China and regional freight prices rose during the past week. Sources said that the rise in domestic Chinese prices could be due to a greater demand for deepsea freights arriving on the Chinese market. Domestic and FOB China Prices have risen in the past week due to a lack of real growth in MMA productionand a growing demand. FOB China tradeable values for MMA have risen from $1,950/mt FOB China to approximately $1,970/mt FOB China. The source added that "supply tightness won't go away so easily." Meanwhile, market sources stated that freights have increased even more and destination markets will bear the brunt of price increases due to freight.
