Asian MMA prices fell week-on-week, as a result of lower prices in China. CFR China MMA prices were down $30/mt to $2,050/mt, while CFR SEA MMA dropped $45/mt to $2,200/mt. Sources said that freight costs to destinations were a major obstacle in both MMA and PMMA. Sources said that while domestic China MMA and PMMA prices are softer week-on-week, high freight costs and shipping hurdles cause delays in the timely arrival cargoes to destination markets such as Southeast Asia and India, and keep prices high. Sources said domestic China producers faced low domestic demand, and reduced their prices to attract export buyers. However, logistics and freight out of China proved to be challenging.
