Asian MMA prices down $65/mt on the weekat $2,000/mt CFR China Sept. 11 and down $5/mt at $2,220/mtCFR Southeast Asia.The fall in China prices was partly due to a weaker crude oilmarket, but also because of growing MMA inventories within thecountry, said a market source, and slow demand from marketslike Southeast Asia and India.Demand from both domestic and export markets weresluggish, the source added, so Chinese prices were softening.Market sources reported the FOB China offers for Octoberloadingcargo was around mid- to low $1,900/mt or between$1,880-$1,950/mt FOB China and domestic prices were alsoobserved to be weaker during the week.Another market source said the bad performance inhousing sales within China and reduced sales of EVs were alsocontributing to lower domestic demand, amid a vastly increasedinstalled production capacity.
