In the past week, the Asian methylmethacrylate market has strengthened. Prices in China rose $30/mt between Nov. 1 and Nov. 6, reaching $1,540/mt FCL China. Southeast Asian prices increased $15/mt over the same period, to $1715/mt FCL SE Asia. The Indian market was reopened after the Diwali holiday. There were wide differences between Indian offers and Chinese bids during the week. China domestic prices increased with higher FOB China offerings for December. According to a market source, the November supply period is over and FOB China offers are now available for December cargoes. FOB China offers were around $1,550/mt FOB China for December-loading, but one trading source claimed that this offer was too high for Indian customers.
