The Asian MMA price was higher on the 24th of July, with the CFR China markup increasing by $10/mt. Sources said that domestic Chinese prices rose during the week. They attributed the increase to both push and pull factors. One source stated that MMA demand from SE Asia and US market for MMA was increasing. A second source in China said that the price of MMA was also increasing due to limited cargo availability, as some plants were shutting down and others planned maintenance for the upcoming months. A source told us earlier this week that FOB China prices were increasing week-on-week, and different offers were being made for different markets.
