Mexico Weekly Recycled Pet: Markets remain stable for the week / Healthier inventories heard this week: Sources / Alpek's Polyester sales volumes increase 2% in Q2

The Mexican market for recycled polyethylene Terephthalate remained stable in the week ending July 31, despite a healthier stock level. Post-consumer PET Premium bales were priced at Mexican Peso 15, ex-works Central Mexico on July 31. This was stable, but above the buyer's indication of Peso 12, delivered Central Mexico. Normalized to Peso 11,3/kg EXW Central Mexico on the basis of trucking costs, which are peso 0.7 - 0.8/kg. Market sources report that buyers from Mexico have been consistently requesting US West Coast bales, but are not "in a hurry" to obtain the material.
