According to the company letters viewed by May, Dow Chemicals and Braskem Idesa both announced increases in prices for June. These increases were widely accepted by the market. A market participant stated that people are eager to purchase material before any further increasesare announced. This increase in activity is due to the increased freight rates from Asia and the seasonal surge of demand in anticipation of holidays in the secondhalfof the year.
