India Methanol: Prices rise to $6.25/mt amid rising / Fundamentals Traders focus on China-India arbitrage flow Tight Iranian supplies in January / CFR India reaches highest levels since May 2022

In the face of a limited Iranian supply, the Indian methanol markets continued to grow. Spot discussions for January cargoes have been more active. CFR India methanol mark at $356.50/mt December 20, reaching its highest level since may 2022. According to market sources, tight Iranian supplies due to plant closures in response of feedstock gas shortages and firm prices in Europe fueled a sharp rise in Indian methanol for January delivery cargoes. As of December 20, Indian netbacks were stronger than other Asian countries. Import parity levels in West Coast India ports hovered between $367 and 380/mt.
