India Methanol: Falling $1/mt amid low buying interest / Ex-tank Prices Slip amid Increased Selling Pressure / Weak demand and abundant supply impact fundamentals / Wide gap in buy-sell affects discussions on non-sanctioned cargoes

The fundamentals of the India methanol markets remained negative on Sept. 27, amid expectations that several Iranian shipments were scheduled to arrive in October. A trader said that there was ample Iranian supply in October and the November availability will be known by mid-October. The trade discussions for October-loading cargoes were conducted at a discount between 0-1% of the CFR India formula. However, there were few discussions on non-sanctioned origins due to a large buy-sell difference. "[There is] no demand. "No one is asking for the product," said a Saudi producer. He added that Indian importers were in a good position because of ample supplies from Iran and a tepid market.
