The price of methanol in India weakened on November 14, as a result of expectations that port stocks would remain high throughout November and into the first half December due to several Iranian cargoes. The market's views on the supply for H2 December are mixed as participants have not yet seen the effect of Iranian plant shutdowns due to winter shortages. Participants in the market noted that MR-sized vessels and several 17,000-20,000 mt vessels were expected to arrive. This would maintain a healthy domestic supply until at least early December.
