India Methanol Prices Drop 50 Cents on the Day Due to Weaker Buyer Interest / Kandla/Mumbai Ex-tank offers Rupee 0.50/kg / Buyers resist buying at fixed prices

Sources said that trade discussions on the Indian methanol markets were very low Oct. 11, due to the festive holidays. India ex-tank price offers decreased Oct. 11. Offers were further reduced by Rupees 0.5/kg in Kandla port and Rupees 0.75/kg in Mumbai port. October 11, India ex-tank Kandla offers and Mumbai extank prices were Rupees 28,75/kg and Rupees 27,75/kg. Offers were a dramatic drop from the Rupees 30-kg level observed on October 9. According to an importer, port stocks could rise due to consistent cargo arrivals coming from the Middle East. The source stated that "we may see stocks rise sharply" in mid-October and the November inventory reports. The dollar-denominated discussion was thin in the week ending October 11.
