Trading activity in the Asian methanol market picked up onMarch 7 with varying results across the region.In China, a deal for a 5,000-mt parcel of Trinidad-origin wastraded at $296/mt CFR China on March 7.Market sources deemed the trade a tad low as domesticmethanol prices in east China were trading Yuan 5-20/mt higheron March 7. Additionally, the restart of Zhejiang XingXingNewEnergy Chemical's methanol-to-olefins plant on March 5, after afour-and-a-half-month furlough, and the restart of Ningbo FundEnergy's MTO on March 1, boosted local demand and prices,sourcesadded.There was an offer at $308/mt CFR Dongguan throughout theweek but it did not attract selling interest.
