Asian Methanol prices fall due to ample supply and slow

Fundamentals in China and India- South Korea's healthy downstream demandAsian methanol fell between $13 and $
19.25/mt during the week ending May 26, due to a lack of demand and abundant
supply. Chinese
domestic prices fell by Yuan 60/mt week-on-week to around Yuan 217/mt. The
actively traded September methanol contract at the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange
also closed Yuan 118/mt below the May 19 closing price of Yuan 2,049/mt. Morning trade saw a spike in trading activity with a deal at
$252/mt FOM China. Domestic prices were around Yuan 2,035/mt Ex-tank, or
$236/mt CIF China on import-parity. In the
afternoon, domestic prices recovered and a cargo of methanol was traded for
