US Methanol prices fall 2 cents due to lower offers / Offers heard across the curve / MMF demand could rise to 2.5Mt by 2030, say port authorities

On Sept. 20th, the spot price for US Gulf Coast Methanol dropped 2 cents as a result of lower offers across the curve. There were also fewer bids. Early offers across the curve were flat at 108 cents/gal. November offers, however, were subsequently heard to be 107 cents/gal. On the day there were no bids or transactions, compared to at least 20,000 barrels traded on Sept. 19. The 20:80 blend between sustainable methanol (methanol) and conventional methanol, used as marine fuel in Houston, was $522/mt on September 20, down $7 from the previous day. The port authorities estimate that the consumption of sustainable marine fuels in the two world's largest bunkering centers of Singapore and Rotterdam could reach 5.6MMt/year in 2030, based on the "green corridor" partnership they have with...
