US methanol prices drop after China's AA price drops / VAM declines aligned with AA amid stable or weak demand

US acetic prices dropped slightly in the week ending April 25. This was due to the latest drop and decrease on USGC methanol forward-month. US Gulf Coast acetic acids at $742/mt, FOB USGC, April 25, a decrease of $3 from the previous week. Domestic delivered prices are assessed at 33.31c/lb, a reduction of 3 cents, following the changes in the export markets. The majority of May-loading FOB china cargoes had been sold earlier in April. This led to a situation where there was a limited amount available. The AA FOB China price was assessed at $374/mt on April 25, down $1 from the previous week.
