India Methanol: Stable amid thin trade activity / Lower bids fail to attract sellers / Several Iranian cargoes expected in the following week

Spot trade activity in the Indian methanol market was thin Sept. 13, amid a wide buy-sell gap. Market participants were not in a rush to buy as several Iranian cargoes were in the pipeline, sources said. "At least three vessels are under loading from Iran between this week & next week," mentioned a trader. The cargoes were heard sold at a discount of 0.5%-1% over the CFR India formula price. The Indian methanol market was slow to react to a sharp recovery in the adjacent China market after a sharp decline in the previous week, sources said.
