India Methanol: CFR India soars amid high trades and supply shortage / CFR India methanol increases to $355/mt / Domestic market up due to shortage of supply

The Indian methanol markets closed in a bullish manner in the week ending February 28 due to a rise of domestic prices and increased CFR discussions. The ex-tank offer at Kandla was Rupees 35.50 to 36/kg. Mumbai's offers were Rupees 36.5-37/kg. Hazira also had offers around Rupees 36/kg. A source said that there is a shortage of supply on the domestic market. Kandla stocks are around 40,000 to 50,000 mt. Mumbai inventory is between 20,000 and 25,000 mt, while Hazira has around 6,000 mt. In the past week, the domestic methanol price rose by Rupees 3,80/kg due to a shortage in West Coast India.
