India Methanol: Rises $1/mt on day amid stronger buying interest / Ex-tank Kandla offers rangebound / CFR China market firmer

Methanol prices in India continued to trend upwards amid bullish fundamentals and increased buying interest for nonsanctioned suppliers. The CFR levels rose to a nine-month high with bids rising for non-sanctioned origin cargoes. The domestic ex-tank Kandla and Mumbai offers were stable in the range of Rupees 28.50-29/kg, while Hazira offers were heard around Rupees 29.50-30/kg. The ex-tank prices were up by Rupees 1.5-2/kg on the week, supported by bullish fundamentals amid gas shortages in Iran during winter and with Europe trading at its highest levels since 2022. "India market is firming, and fundamentals are strong, import parity levels are now around $315/mt with ex-tank moving higher," a market source said.
