trading activity picked up on April 19. After the Market on
Close assessment, a deal was made for a 6,000 mt parcel that will arrive in
China mid-May at $299/mt CFR China on April 19. Stronger-than-expected first-quarter GDP growth in China
bolstered sentiment and prices in the Chinese methanol market April 19. CFR China was up 50 cents/mt for the day, at $299/mt. Petronas Chemicals Marketing's (Labuan), Malaysian methanol
manufacturer, has announced that its 1.7 million mt/year plant No. A company source confirmed that the No. 2 methanol facility
will be closed for a month to undergo repairs....
