India's market activity has picked up, with prices for domestic products ex-tank firmer due to a smaller port inventory. After the Kandla inventory report of July 31, which showed a drop in stock from 28,319 mt to 19,201 mt, buying interest increased on August 2. An estimated healthy methanol stock at Kandla is around/above 55,001-70,000 mt. Ex-tank domestic Kandla prices and Mumbai prices rose to Rupees 25.75-26/kg during the week ending August 2. Offers heard were higher by at least Rupees 0.50/kg. After the Market on Close assessment ended on August 2, ex-tank discussions at Kandla port and Mumbai port were firmer, around Rupee 26,25-26.50/kg.
