Methanol prices in India dropped Nov. 29, with fundamentals becoming softer for Dec. amid healthy port supplies and slow demand. Sources have complained about storage and ullage problems at Mumbai and Kandla port due to the arrival of two cargoes each from Iran. In the week ending Nov. 29, market data showed that ships with at least 80.000 mt of methanol berthed in Mumbai and Kandla ports. There is no room to discharge new cargoes. A seller stated that the port's inventory was well over 100,000-120,000 mt. Several sources reported that the market's outlook was affected by the sluggish demand due to the large inflow of goods.
