consumer demand.-China led the losses across Asia, with prices dropping
$9/mt-week on week to $265/mt on May 12.-The Chinese market had a bullish start
to the week May 8-on the back of higher crude oil futures, but they lost
ground-midweek as market participants focused on ample supply in June-in the
wake of weak domestic sales and methanol demand.-"Consumer good sales is
plummeting," said a trader.-The actively-traded September methanol futures
contract on-the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange fell Yuan 117/mt from May-8 and
closed Yuan 65/mt lower week on week at Yuan 2,216/mt-on May 12.-A deal for a
10,000 mt cargo loading from Trinidad and Tobago-was concluded...
