In the week ending April 19, there was
limited activity on the European spot market for linear low density
polyethylene due to continued weakness in demand. The European LLDPE Market
is traditionally dependent on imports. Sources
claim that the limited imports which began in March have tightened up the
supply of LLDPE grades. This has allowed for a stronger pricing compared to
other polyethylene grades. During the week
of April 19, however, imports from the Middle East of material grade
metallocene were priced competitively with existing Asian imports. The European metallocene price was Eur1,340/mt NWE FD, down
Eur30/mt from the previous week. The LLDPE
markets C4 and C6 have remained relatively quiet in comparison to the
