The European MEG market was under
pressure this week due to ample supply pressured both truck and barge
prices. One trader pointed out a bulk trade at Eur490/mt CIF/ARA, which
came after further bulk trade at Eur510/mt last Wednesday. Market
sources indicated that additional delayed import resupply ships arrived in
March in addition to other contracts. This bulk trade followed another at
Eur510/mt last week. As the season moves towards spring, the
antifreeze season has largely ended. Spring is
usually the season that sees more demand for PET. This is because
consumers tend to buy more bottled fluids. Demand is expected to pick
up as the season progresses. The distributor stated that
antifreeze consumption is declining and that there was still a lot of demand
for solvent...
