Prices of Acrylonitrile in South Asia remained unchanged in the week ended October 29, despite the fact that fundamentals remained unchanged and there was little trading due to the holidays. Sources say that the BIS implementation has been postponed until next year. This means concerns about material supply are no longer an issue, and price discussions have stabilised. India has extended until October 24, 2025 the deadline to implement mandatory Bureau of Indian Standards certificates for acrylonitrile (vinylbenzene), styrene and maleic anhydride. The government set the deadline for the BIS quality order to be enforced on these chemicals as Oct. 24, 2024. ACN CFR South Asia was stable for the week on October 29 at $1,215/mt.
