- March discussion resumes- March Nylon Demand Lowluster

Some participants reached a negotiated
level on their contracted supply after trade discussions resumed in the Asian
caprolactam marketplace. Sources with knowledge of the matter
stated that March 2 saw one contract price settle at $1,725/mt. Sources said
that nylon demand was weak and that the firmer March laycan demand was more
upbeat than anticipated. Ex-tank supplies discussions were
held in south China at Yuan 12,800-12,080/mt. This is approximately
$1,860.25/mt on the dollar/yuan exchange rates and excluding local taxes. A producer
stated that FOB Korea benzene physical markers remained above $900-920/mt,
which is putting pressure on producers. CFR Far East
Asia caprolactam, CFR Southeast Asia caprolactam are both at $1725/mt.
