M2 July Aramco CP swaps up to 50 cents/mt the day / Participants expect Iran LPG exports in May to decline on previous months

Jun 01, 2024

Saudi Aramco's month-two contract for July propane was $560/mt, up $50/mt from the previous day and $20/mt less than the June term CP. This assessment was based upon a June FEI CP-CP propane contract swap at $560/mt May 31. It was up 50 cents/mt on the day and $20/mt below the June term CP. The Aramco CP July-August propane swap backwardation increased by $2/mt on May 31. Sources said that propane prices would likely be supported by the expectation of lower gasoline imports from Iran. A trader reported that Iran exported around 400,000mt of LPG last month, down from a monthly average of about 800,000mt.
