- Low downstream demand maintains low buying interest- Ethylbenzene a "bright
spot" for demand: source

The US benzene price was mostly stable on
June 21, with the exception being June DDP which traded lower for the day. According to a trade report, June DDP benzene
was 300 cents/gal on the same day. DDP for July was steady at 288
cents/gal despite a lack of buying interest. Cumene
interest has been quietly rising in recent weeks, despite the fact that one
market participant claimed it was a lower-quality blendstock than other
aromatics. Sources in the market said cumene was valued at
RBOB July plus 81 cents/gal. Ethylbenzene was offered closer to
the July RBOB plus 90cents/gal. A market participant called
ethylbenzene "the one bright spot for benzene demand" for gasoline
blending.
