The European acrylonitrile market continued to be characterized by muted activity during the week ending April 16. This was due to a lack of demand from consumers for additional volumes. Material availability was limited due to a reduced import supply, and lower run rates by the producers on the continent. However, the demand for acrylonitrile in the Northwest European region has yet to reach levels that would spark a significant rise in spot activity. Due to the tight supply and weak demand, spot prices were stable at $1,400/mt CIFARA for the week. A trader stated that the "market is a relative one" and added, "There is nothing happening."
