Market participants monitored tender activity and kept an eye on the reforming range. The Asian naphtha markets firmed up May 30. Brokers pegged the front month June-July mean of Japan naphtha exchange time spread at $9/mt in midmorning Asian trading on May 29. This was an increase of 75 cents/mt over the previous closing. A source says derivative prices are rising as traders are buying the MOPJ spread because gasoline prices are weak. The key Singapore reforming differential -- the difference between Singapore's 92RON gasoline and Singapore's naphtha-derived derivative -- was $17.60/b by the Asian close on May 29, down $2.19/b from the previous week.
