Asian LLDPE : thin trading as buyers wait and see / Demand in SE Asia is sluggish / Slight increase in Chinese domestic PE

The Southeast Asian linear polyethylene market was quiet in the week ending September 4, as buyers took a wait-and see attitude. LLDPE film remained stable at $970/mt CFR Southeast Asia for the week. The demand remained weak and converters restocked only when necessary. The Vietnam market was also quiet due to the long-awaited national holidays that lasted from August 31 to September 3. On Sept. 4, China's domestic prices began to trend downwards amid falling crude oil price. Chinese LLDPE was down Yuan 40/mt from the previous week to Yuan 8220/mt Ex-works East China, while CFR maker fell $5/mt for the same week.
