Asian LLDPE: Stable amid rangebound discussions / Southeast Asia demand rebounds / Imports in China are on the rise

Sources said that the Asian market for low linear density polyethylene remained stable in the week ending April 24, despite rangebound discussion levels. Demand in Southeast Asia is starting to recover after the holidays, but this hasn't led to more firm tradable indicators in the wider market. The tradable indicators were at the same levels as last week, at $985 to $1,000/mt. This was due to a lack of cheap cargo as buyers could not get lower prices from other suppliers. Sources stated that most producers maintained their prices because of high crude oil costs and ethylene costs. Data showed that June ICE Brent futures increased 25 cents per day to $88.440/b on April 24, while the ethylene CFR Southeast Asia marker was assessed to be $1,010/mt. In China, sources...
