linear low density polyethylene prices were stable to down in the week to March
22. In Southeast Asia, demand was weak ahead of Ramadan. On a yearly average,
raw material naphtha prices were down 10.8%, while feedstock ethylene prices
were down 14.7% and PE prices were down on an average 6.9% due to weak consumer
spending, sources said. PE prices fell due to weak demand on uncertain economy,
sources said. Chinese factories were counting on the domestic market, rather
than exports due to the uncertain macroeconomy, to drive demand in the second
