The Asian propylene markets remained stable on April 30, as both sides remained at a standstill due to the absence of spot trading during the holiday season in the region. Sources said that buyers are holding off on purchasing at the current level, while offer levels have not been adjusted yet due to feedstock stress, resulting in a lack trading opportunities. A trader stated that spot supply is limited but the demand for polypropylene remained low with relatively high downstream inventories. The trader said that "the two downstream propylene products which are currently seeing healthy margins are probably acrylonitrile, and normal butanol."
