Limited spot propylene cargoes available – South Korean steam crackers that use naphtha will operate at an average rate of 86% in April

Sources said that the spread between FOB Korea and CFR China narrowed by $5/mt per day, to $25/mt for April 18 due to a tighter balance of supply and demand in South Korea. Few sources reported that despite slowdown downstream markets, there is a tighter supply situation on the market with limited spot cargoes. A source in Northeast Asia said that the FOB China market has been much more tight than it was in recent months. Data from industry sources shows that South Korea's steam cracker run rate is expected to be 86% online capacity on average in April.
