Limited demand for May deliveries and tight supply / PDH average plant run rates reached 56% in March

On April 15, Asian propylene was stable, as the market participants remained at a standstill due to a relatively stable and strong supply-demand. The supply was tight on the import cargo market, with few offers for May deliveries. Sources said that despite the continued thin margins in production, the firm improvement of demand was not as strong. A Chinese trader stated that there are few trading discussions on the propylene markets these days. According to data provided by the domestic information provider JLC, on April 16, calculations were made based on the average operating rate of China's 28 dehydrogenation plant for propane in March. JLC reported that the data included Ningbo Kingfa’s newly-added 600,000 mt/year Phase 2 unit as well as Fujian Meide’s newly-added 1 million mt/year Phase 2 unit....
