Limited buying appetite among traders / FOB China offers rise

On April 19, Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was up $1/mt from the previous day to $977/mt, while the MTBE factor was stable at 1.145. The MTBE price in China increased on April 19 due to volatile crude oil values. However, traders' buying appetite was low as FOB China prices grew again. Crude oil prices were volatile during the Asian trading session. ICE Brent June Futures closed at $87.23/b, compared to $86.97/b on the previous day. On April 19, there was no specific buying interest expressed by Singapore traders. However, one source stated that they had purchased some MTBE cargoes from China prior to this week.
