Weak demand and resistance to high offers continue to pressure prices downward in the Southeast Asian low density polyethylene market for the week ending Aug. 28. LDPE film down $25/mt on the week at $1,160/ mt CFR Southeast Asia on Aug. 28. Offers for September cargoes were heard in the range of $1,180-$1,200/mt, while bids were at $1,150/mt. Sources say trading remains thin as buyers adopt a wait-andsee stance, expecting prices to soften further. In China, domestic LDPE film prices rose Yuan 175/mt on the week to Yuan 10,375/mt ex-works East China, while LDPE film remained stable on the week at $1,100/mt CFR Far East Asia on Aug. 28.
