Sources say that the Chinese market for low linear density polyethylene trended upwards in the week leading up to May 21, amid an improved market sentiment and buying appetite. The Chinese Finance Ministry also began selling ultra-long treasurybonds to stimulatethe economy on the sameday, they added. As a result of this, domestic futures on May 17 continued to climb before falling on May 21. Sources said that this hasn't yet led to any price decreases on dollar-denominated cargoes. A Chinese trader stated that there isn't much change in the market today but CFR-traded price could fall if the domestic market for PE continues to deteriorate.
