Asian LDPE : Thin trade amid limited new offers / Few new offers heard from China and SE Asia / Some restocking of goods in China before long holidays

The Asian market for low density polyethylene was quiet during the week ending September 25 due to a lack of new spot offers. LDPE film CFR Far East Asia was up $10/mt to $1,110/mt while CFR Southeast Asia was unchanged at 1,150/mt on Sept. 25, Restocking was done in China prior to the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7. Southeast Asia buyers had enough inventory and did not rush to secure shipments. On upstream markets, Asian-ethylene was barely traded on Sept. 25, despite persistent weakness downstream. Market sources reported that there were very few bids or offers each day due to a general lack in urgency.
