LDPE prices fell on weak demand, sources said. In India, discussions were thin
due to the financial year end closing. The rising cost of oil over the last two
years has eroded margins globally and might impact new startups, producers
said. Gas-based producers said they were in a similar situation but did not
face costs as heavy as oil-based polymer producers. Many Northeast Asia plants
were running at lower operating rates, traders said. Capacity additions in
China and the US were expected to pour more PE into global export markets, when
already thin demand has prompted many producers to reduce output. Market
sources expect the recovery...
