Asia LDPE: Stable-to-weak amid lackluster demand- Slow season- A weak outlook for H2The Asian LDPE market was
stable-to-slightly-weaker on the week June 7 due to sluggish demand amid a
traditionally slow season, sources said. The demand was low as converters held off on purchases and
were hesitant to take risks due to the economic uncertainty. The second half of the year 2023 is expected to see a
slowdown in global polyethylene demand as participants struggle with recycled
PE. The price correlation between recycled
and virgin PE was strong throughout 2023, as both markets were affected by the
global supply shortage. Sources said that
while in the West (Europe and North America), both mandatory and voluntary
commitments were driving demand for recycled PET, trade flows into Europe had
