Brazil raises import tariffs on LLDPE to 11.2%Spot
prices for Latin American linear low-density polyethylene were stable along the
West Coast of South America. They were slightly lower in Brazil, Mercosur and
the Mexican domestic market March 22. WCSA: Spot import pricing for LLDPE
was $1,170/mt as of March 22. This is unchanged from the previous week. It was
based on pricing indications ranging from $1.150 to $1.220/mt. These prices are
lower than most competitive offers, which range from $1.190 to $1.225. However,
it was higher than the $1,100/mt bids. According to a US trader, the Latin
American market is requesting low prices for US products at around $1,100/mt.
