US Gulf Coast methanol was steady on 15 May, amid feedback from the market that continued quietness. The intermonth market structure remained at a 1-cent contago. On May 15, no bids or offerings were heard for methanol in the front or forward months. On May 14, offers were heard for 94 cents/gal ITC FOB for spot May methanol, with June offers 1 cent higher. A market source reported that no trades had been heard. According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, data released on May 15 showed that US inflation dropped to 3.4% from 3.5% in march.
